Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is... stop.
Yes, it sounds counterintuitive. But creating space for the new often means lovingly releasing what we've been holding onto, even when it's something we deeply cherish.
So, I have something to tell you.
I'm taking a hiatus from our monthly Breath Is Prayer ceremonies, and I'll be pulling back on a few other things too.
Deep breath.
Even writing those words brings up so much emotion. These ceremonies have been a labor of love, born from my heart and nurtured by all of you who've shown up month after month to breathe with me. I'm incredibly proud of what we've created. The transformations, the connections, the sacred space—it's been nothing short of magical.
I learn by doing. I dive in heart-first, figure things out as I go, and sometimes that means learning what doesn't work as much as what does.
I've done so many beautiful experiments over the years. I've poured my soul into my work, held space for our community, and discovered some difficult truths. Such as… not every passion is meant to be a business. Sometimes our gifts are meant to flow in different ways.
BUT I don't regret a single moment because it's all been worth it and I've learned so much. Wisdom means knowing when to pivot, when to honor what's calling us forward even when we can't quite see the full picture yet.
I'm in an interesting space of transition right now. I know something's growing, but I'm not quite sure what it will look like when it's born.
What I do know is that I'm being called to create something specifically for women who are overextended. Women who give and give and give until there's nothing left! Women who've forgotten what their own boundaries feel like. Women who've lost connection to pleasure and intimacy with themselves, to joy, to the simple act of being instead of constantly doing.
Sound familiar?
It's so easy to burn out and exhaust ourselves! And often, we don't know what's happening until it's too late.
I know I can't create from a place of overextension. I can't teach what I'm not embodying. And lately, I've been feeling that familiar pull of doing too much, loving too many things, spreading myself across too many projects. I recently lost a dear friend, and it's made so many patterns in my life painfully clear.
To step into something new, I need space. Real space. Not just physical time in my calendar, but energetic space, creative space, spiritual space.
In past years, I've taken January off, but I know I'll need more than a month to really let new possibilities emerge. I've learned that these pauses, these deliberate empty spaces, are actually incredibly powerful.
It's in the void that creation happens.
It's in the silence that we hear our deepest wisdom.
So how am I navigating this transition? By using every tool I have!
Constellation Altars: They actually aren't solely for family patterns. Constellations can be used to explore specific questions or situations. I'm literally creating visual representations of "What is this mystery thing coming forward?" and "What's holding me back?" It gives my subconscious a playground to show me what I can't yet see with my logical mind.
The Passion Test: I'm getting crystal clear on my priorities since passions evolve over time. What lit me up five years ago might not be what's calling me NOW, and that's exactly how it should be. Otherwise we'd never grow!
Breathwork: Of course! But not facilitating as much—receiving. I'm letting myself be held in the breath, letting emotions move through me without having to be "on" for anyone else.
Increased Self-Care: More walks, more rest, more time in nature. I'm tending to my body like the sacred vessel it is. I'm asking for support from mentors and saying no to obligations that drain me rather than fill my tank.
If you're reading this and feeling that uncomfortable recognition—that "oh shit, she's talking about me!" feeling—first, TAKE A BREATH. You're not alone.
Here's what I've learned about finding our way back to balance:
#1 You can't think your way out of overwhelm.
When we're overextended, thinking gets foggy. You need a fresh perspective. Find someone to talk to: a friend, a mentor, a coach. Don't just vent (though that has its place) but genuinely receive a different viewpoint.
#2 Get visual.
Whether it's through a constellation altar, journaling, or even just making lists, sometimes you need to see your commitments outside of yourselves to understand what can be released.
#3 Breathwork is your friend!
If you're scared of letting go, breathe through it. Anxiety about disappointing others? Breathe through it. The breath doesn't make the feelings go away, but it can help you co-exist with your emotions without being consumed.
#4 Start with ONE thing.
You don't have to revolutionize your entire life overnight. What's one commitment, one obligation, one "should" that you can lovingly release?
Every ending is also a beginning. Every release creates space for something new to be born.
I'm not disappearing. I'm not giving up on breathwork or any of my modalities. I'm creating space for whatever wants to emerge. Maybe it's a program for overextended women. Maybe it's something I can't even imagine yet. The mystery is part of the process.
For those of you who've been breathing with me monthly, who've counted on these online ceremonies as part of your spiritual practice: this isn't goodbye. It's "see you in the next chapter."
And for those of you who are feeling your own call to take a hiatus from something: trust it. Trust yourself. Trust that the universe will fill that space with exactly what you need, even if you can't see it from your current vantage point.
If you're feeling overextended, if you're curious about using The Passion Test to clarify your priorities, if you want support in creating your own constellation altar… I'm still here for that. In fact, I have more space for one-on-one work now!
